About
Why this site exists
I built Fastfingertype for a simple reason: like a lot of people, I spent years typing without ever really learning how. Eyes on the keyboard, a few fingers doing all the work, and a nagging feeling that I could be faster if I just knew what I was doing wrong.
Once I started learning proper technique, it clicked faster than I expected. Most of the problem came down to a few small habits that no one had ever explained clearly. Fixing them made typing feel easier, and that’s the experience I wanted to pass on.
This site is everything I wish I’d had back then, in one place.

Hi, I’m Hasnain — the person behind Fastfingertype. I’m not a typing champion or a keyboard influencer, just someone who wanted a clean, honest place to test typing speed and actually improve. Everything here is built and written to be genuinely useful, in plain language, without the hype.
What we believe
Free should mean free. The typing test and core tools don’t need an account, and never will.
Accuracy over hype. We won’t promise you 100 WPM in a week. We give honest, practical steps and let your own results speak.
Your privacy matters. We keep data collection to a minimum. You can read exactly how we handle it on our Privacy & Terms page.
Frequently asked questions
Is Fastfingertype really free?
Yes, completely. The typing test, lessons, games and leaderboard are all free to use with no account required. There is no trial, no paywall, and no hidden fee.
Do I need to create an account?
No. You can take the typing test and use the tools straight away without signing up. Your recent results are saved in your own browser so you can track progress.
Does it work on mobile phones and tablets?
Yes. The site works on computers, tablets and phones. Typing tests are easiest on a physical keyboard, but everything is fully usable on a touchscreen too.
How is my typing speed measured?
Speed is shown in words per minute (WPM), where one word equals five characters. We also show your accuracy and consistency, because raw speed alone does not tell the whole story.
How does the leaderboard work?
When you finish a typing test, your score is added to the global leaderboard automatically. Only your best run is shown, and you can add a nickname so your name appears instead of Anonymous.
How can I contact you?
Head to our contact page and send a message. Whether it is a question, a suggestion, or a bug you spotted, real emails get real replies.
Ready to beat your record?
Challenge yourself, improve your typing speed, and reach new personal bests with every test.
